Hey there! Easter holidays have just started here in Spain, and before taking a little break, we wanted to leave things in a good place. Since early 2025, right after releasing the Logic Gates update, we’ve been laser-focused on one goal: multiplayer support. Because, let’s be honest—games are way more fun when played together. And even more so in Virtual Reality!

Truth be told, we’ve had this task sitting on our Trello board since… yep, 2022. Along the way, we’ve learned a lot: we’ve connected our apps to the internet, controlled robots, and even managed real-time communication between devices. But we’d never managed to get two players in the same game scene. Until now!
After countless failed tests (and a few meltdowns), we finally did it—two players interacting in the same local multiplayer session. It’s just an initial success, but it’s a huge milestone for us. We made it happen using Unity’s Netcode for GameObjects, 100% natively, no third-party services involved. It runs over local Wi-Fi, with one player hosting the session. No need for an internet connection. We still need a router, but we’re planning to test Bluetooth soon—if bandwidth allows!

Now, something a bit more real: Expacia is a fully independent project with no external funding. Growth has been slow, and to be honest, we haven’t built an active community yet (maybe we haven’t found the right way to tell our story?). Still, we’re here—working, learning, and loving every bit of this amazing tech.
