This project aims at facilitating a transition towards more resilient, circular, and sustainable operating models of European tourism companies through the testing and integration of innovative digitally-driven solutions that reduce unnecessary burdens, improve the quality of the tourism experience, contribute to the decarbonization of the tourism sector and a more inclusive economic growth – not only for small and medium-sized companies but also for the residents of the destinations.
This project, endowed with European funds from the COSME Program, which helps promote the competitiveness of European SMEs, was born to serve as a tool for ‘Relaunching European smart and SustainablE Tourism models Through digitalization and INnovative technoloGies’ (RESETTING in short). It aims at facilitating a transition towards more resilient, circular, and sustainable operating models of European tourism companies through the testing and integration of innovative digitally-driven solutions that reduce unnecessary burdens, improve the quality of the tourism experience, contribute to the decarbonization of the tourism sector and a more inclusive economic growth – not only for small and medium-sized companies but also for the residents of the destinations.
By co-creating, piloting, and optimizing sophisticated and innovative technological solutions, the project will help to overcome the challenge of SMEs which oftentimes are lacking the resources and capacity to keep up with technological development, and consequently introduce innovative solutions. The project will enhance the capacities/competencies and skills needed by SMEs to improve the use of new technologies, for them to lead to new business models that will take root across Europe.
